Scheduled Beading Class Descriptions and Schedules
Classes are held per the schedule below. Kindly scroll down this page or download our class list from the link below. We have two types of Beading Classes: On the Spot and Scheduled beading classes. We want all of you to have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of jewelry-making but realize it's not always easy to find the time to come to one of our regularly scheduled classes. So Beadtopia is now offering two individual abbreviated classes in introductory techniques-Wire Wrapped Earrings or Basic Stringing "on the spot". We can quickly have you up and running. Or if you are interested in more advanced techniques, take a scheduled class. We offer different variety of techniques for the beginner to the advanced beader.

"On the Spot Mini Beading Classes"

Wire Wrap $15 per class instruction, per person
Bead Stringing
$10 per class, per person
Purchase your own beading materials prior to class. Loaner tools will be available, if needed. Instruction will run about 10-15 minutes. You are welcome to stay as long as you like to practice the technique at our work table. Special Note: While we will make every effort to give your a lesson at the time requested, please understand that these classes are subject to the availability of a Beadtopia sales person. |
Scheduled Beading Classes: Classes are $45 for instruction, including $10 credit toward your choice of materials
Classes are $45 per person and includes a $10 credit toward class materials, unless otherwise noted. After class, each student will receive a 15% off coupon to be used at their discretion toward beading materials on one future visit, (parties or classes exempt from future discount.) Beading classes run approximately 1 ½ hours long. Please arrive earlier before class starts so you can choose your materials. In order to reserve your class, we request a $25 deposit before the beginning of the class. Private classes start at $65 per person and are arranged directly with the instructor.
Starburst Bracelet -Right Angle Weave (Friday, Feb 26, 6:00PM) Class Fee $45
Learn to make the Starburst components and how to join them together for a bracelet or necklace. Techniques for using a toggle or 2 strand slide lock clasp are included. Students must be familiar with the Right Angle Weave. Knowledge of Peyote Stitch and Herringbone Stitch will be helpful but not necessary. Students will not complete the project in class. This is an intermediate beading project.
Pineapple Charm Class Fee $45

What a cute little charm you can add to your cell phone or use as a cool pendant. You will learn bead weaving techniques with a pattern. This beading technique is all the rage in Asia and now gaining momentum in the US. Kits are available for $14.95, and you can use your materials credit toward the kit.
Crystal Tennis Bracelet (Wed, Feb 10, 9:00AM) Class Fee $45
This is really easy, but looks difficult. This is suitable for beginner beaders. You will learn basic stringing techniques and incorporate crystal bicones and spacers to make this lovely design.
Crystal Drop Pendant (Wed., March 24, 5:30PM) Class Fee $45
Wire wrapping isn't so difficult if you learn here at Beadtopia! Make this fashion forward pendant which can adorn earrings or necklaces using a focal bead and crystals. Once you learn this technique, you can make all sorts of jewelry. This is suitable for the beginner wire wrapper. .
Flower Crystal Pendant Class Fee $45
Make this goregeous wire wrapped flower pendant using crystals and wire. Learn how to step up your wire wrapping techniques to make this innovative designs. This is an intermediate wire wrapping class.
Cabochon Wrap Class Fee $45
This is another Beadtopia Favorite class. Students will learn how to encase a cabochon with wire, also making a bale with decorative elements. Chose a cabochon, which is a bead without a hole and with a flat back. You can also chose a semi-precious stone slab or large flat bead instead of a cabochon. Students will learn how to cage a cabochon with wire and construct a matching bale. Once you learn this technique, students can encase many decorative items, such as arrowheads, slab stones, beach sea glass, or a vintage bric-a-brac. You will learn you don't need a bead with drilled holes; you can go beyond the basics and learn that anything can become a pendant or part of your jewelry.
Crystal & Wire Ring (Wed., March 3, 6PM ) Class Fee $45
This is another very popular class at Beadtopia. Why? Not very many beaders make rings, but you will learn that armed with the right knowledge, it isn't so difficult. This class is a beginning level wire wrapping class. These rings are often seen in fashion magazines for hundreds of dollars. You can learn to make them inexpensively and quickly. Also, if you are one who doesn't wear rings because they are hard to fit your fingers, you will learn how to size your own rings to be custom made for you. Learn to create a one-of-a-kind ring using Artistic Wire or sterling silver wire and your choice of beads and crystal.
Wire Weaving (Wed., Feb 24, 9:00AM) Class Fee $45
Use wire as an embellishment to your beads with this wire wrapping technique.Make interesting shapes with wire that enhances the design of simple beads. Students should have a basic wire background. This is an intermediate wire wrapping class.
St. Pete's Necklace (Fri., March 26, 6:00PM) Class Fee $45
WOW, our beading teacher does it again Learn the basics of St. Peterburg's chain and make this beautiful texural necklace using 11/0 and 8/0 seed beads, 4MM cube beads and 6MM Firepolished beads. Trimming the inner edge of the necklace is optional. The Amethyst class sample does not have inner trim beads while the Montana class sample does. Students could possibly complete the projectin class. This class is for the beginner beader.
A Beadtopia Classic Class: Briolette Necklace (Wed. March 10, 5:30PM ) Class Fee $45
This is one of Beadtopia's most popular classes. This class is a great introduction to wire wrapping. Students will learn how to wire wrap teardrop shaped beads, also known as briolettes. This necklace design is very popular as it works with casual or more formal wear. If you use crystals, the necklace has a more dressy look, but the same technique can be made more edgier using rough cut semi-precious stones. Students will learn how to wire wrap briolettes onto a sterling silver or gold filled chain and how to attach a clasp.
Pearl Knotting (Wed., Jan. 20 9AM and Sat. March 13, 10:30AM) Class Fee $45
Pearl knotting is the
quintessential beading technique. Perhaps you always wanted to restring your grandmother's pearls. Maybe you have a jewelry box of old vintage necklaces that have beautiful glass and crystal beads but the necklace clasp is broken. This is your class. We will teach you how to use silk cord and hand knot beads. You will learn the types of findings, jewelry clasps needed for pearl knotting. You will also learn about using silk cord and how to handle its properties.
Crochet Basics Class Fee $45
Learn the basics of crochet with wire. Wire crochet gives a feminine airy design. This is a beginning course for wire crochet, and it is not necessary to know how to crochet.
