CROCHET CUFF PATTERN:
Materials:
28 gauge copper wire, preferably Artistic Wire
35 -3 or 4 MM bicone crystal (can also use small pearls)
35 -4 or 5MM round beads (either gem, pearl,
35 –5 MM Fresh Water pearls
Size E and A crochet hook.
Toggle clasp or Biwa Stick Pearl with horizontal drilled hole
Add Beads:
First, add approximately 90-100 beads on wire on the spool. Alternate with beads to give a random look. It’s better to have more than not enough beads on the spool.
Disclaimer: The sizing of the bracelet will be determined by the tension you crochet. Some people have a “tighter crochet” than others. It is best to start with a practice piece to determine your personal gauge.
Start Crocheting:
Row 1: Using a Size E crochet hook, LOOSELY chain 24. If you have a larger wrist, add 1 chain for each 1/3 inch desired. (Smaller wrists use 22 stitches)
Row 2: Chain 1. Double crochet into first chain. Then add one bead. Double crochet bead into the next stitch. Double crochet without a bead. Then double crochet. There is no science. You can even skip adding a bead to 2 double crochets. The goal is to have a random disbursements of the beads.
3rd Row: Repeat row 2 (Double Crochet every stitch, adding a bead to every other stitch.
4th Row: Repeat row 2
Optional: 5th Row for: You can make a larger cuff but you may need to add a necklace spacer bar to support the edges.
Finishing: At end of the last row, chain 2. Single crochet down the short edge. At the middle of the edge. Using the smaller crochet hook, chain stitch about 10 stitches very tightly to form the toggle loop. Check the sizing of the toggle mate, such as a Biwa pearl... Secure the toggle loop with a half crochet. Convert back to the larger crochet hook. Half crochet along top and bottom edge. At the corner, chain one to give some “slack”. Single crochet along the opposite side edge to complete the round. Cut off giving 12 inches of wire. Weave ends to middle of side. Using smaller crochet hook, chain 4. Then bind off. Wire wrap Biwa pearl to end of chain using end of the artistic wire.
You will probably have leftover beads on the wire. You can remove or continue to crochet a new project.
